"My sister Joanne was a smart, talented young woman who dreamed of becoming an artist one day, and I suspect she would have been a good one.  She died three months short of her 20th birthday, when I was 17. This restaurant is named in memory of her, and the many family celebrations we had together.

Food was always at the heart of all our celebrations, part of our family culture. Most of the dishes we serve here were, and still are, Germanotta family favorites. They are not intended to be haute cuisine - though we try to serve them with a bit of style! They are the kinds of dishes Joanne and I always looked forward to on holidays and special occasions, days when we celebrated all the work and fun our family shares together. When you dine with us, our goal is to create that same sort of experience for you, among old friends and new, with a friendly staff, in a warm and cozy place."
